Coffee by day, cocktails by night - Over Under knows how to serve up amazing drinks any time of the day. We headed there to check out their brunch menu, hardcore drum n bass/techno/housey soundtrack, and of course, to pick up a cold brew on tap.
Over by day, and Under by night, this spot certainly has a unique identity. The clean lines, slick interior and confident personality shines through and adds a real sense of spice to this part of South West London. Plus, just round the corner from the Earls Court spot is a second site in West Brompton. They've also just launched a third location up in Manchester which Ed the owner promises is equally lively.
For brunch we tried the chorizo hash: delicious chorizo fried with potato and wholegrain mustard, topped with a fried egg. We also tucked into the truffled egg & cress roll. The oaky, nutty eggs with that sweet sweet brioche bun worked a dream. The quality of food is amazing, particularly given the space the crew have to work - and tastes even more delicious when dining al fresco in the beaut window hatch at the front of the cafe.
When five-thirty hits, the cafe is transformed into a candlelit cocktail spot. Down comes the atmospheric curtain and out swings the infamous 'Popcorn OG' - combining Four Roses bourbon, popcorn sugar and orange bitters, it's the Over-Under invention that Ross behind the bar recommended without hesitation.
Music is a big part of the Over Under experience. The volume is high, the playlist is sick, and they never turn it down for long! So if you're looking for somewhere for a music-fueled brunch in west London, or a cocktail to sip on those summer eves, head to Over Under and say hey from us. You might even find some cold brew slippin' into your Negroni.
