Roasting in E17 since 2015 and owned by awesome couple Vic and Adam, Perky Blenders has a super local and family-run vibe. They started out with a Piaggio 3-wheeler coffee cart on the street, but Perky now has four sites across Waltham Forest and their pumping roaster in the heart of Leyton fuels 50 stores across London and beyond.
Perky get involved in the Walthamstow Garden Party, E17 Art Trail, and have a spot at the Magistrates Court. A proud part of the Waltham Forest community, they played a role in winning and celebrating Waltham Forest’s borough of culture award in 2018. Pretty cool, eh?
They are as committed to the environment as they are to the community. In partnership with Zero Emissions Delivery, most of their coffee is delivered by bike and packaged in biodegradable bags or reusable tubs. Plus, their coffee waste fertilizes the soil for many allotments across the Waltham Forest area.
On 15th June, the Sandows bar and team travelled to Perky’s café ‘Project 660’ by Leyton Midland Road to serve up cold brew and good times. Think Cold Brew G+T’s, local beers, gin pong, lucky dips and much more. We even polished off a few tasty treats from Unholy Bagels to keep us going through the night.
True to form, weekend regulars came to check it out and tried some cold brew whilst their kids got covered in temporary tattoos and conquered the ring toss game. As the afternoon progressed, the booze began to flow, the music picked up, and the party raged on. Rain and grey clouds couldn’t dampen the vibe; protected by two gazebos pegged up in double time, the dancing ran into the early hours of Sunday morning and the smiles only got wider.
Shout out to Vic, Adam, Em, Jordan and the rest of the awesome Perky team for making this happen. Next time you’re in Waltham Forest, drop into Perky Blenders and tell them we sent you.
