Recipe: Sandows Espresso Martini

Recipe: Sandows Espresso Martini

There are very few things more impressive than an Espresso Martini whipped up at home. Traditionally made using a shot of espresso, coffee liqueur and vodka, the Espresso Martini was invented when cocktail hero Dick Bradsell was asked to make a drink which would "wake me up, then f*** me up". Bittersweet, short, caffeinated and delicious, the espresso martini is smooth and dark with a delicious crema on top.

We developed our Espresso Martini Mix so you can experience bar-quality at home. Using natural, plant-based ingredients, our formula seamlessly replaces espresso for Espresso Martinis and any other coffee-based cocktails! No longer do you have to make seven espressos to make a round of drinks. Just follow our streamlined recipe for amazing Espresso Martinis every time.

What you'll need:

50ml Vodka (we used the delicious Grey Goose La Vanille)

15ml Coffee Liqueur (we like Mr. Black), Sugar Syrup, or Agave Nectar

35ml Sandows Espresso Martini Mix

A cocktail shaker + strainer

A measure

The recipe:

Pour 50ml of Vodka into half of a cocktail shaker filled with ice.

Measure 15ml of coffee liqueur, sugar syrup or agave nectar and add to the shaker.

Add 35ml of Sandows Espresso Martini Mix to the shaker.

Put the second half of the shaker on top and seal. Shake vigorously to create that beautiful crema.

Strain your cocktail into a chilled glass and serve!
