Cold brew is coffee infused with cold water overnight. This is not hot coffee we left out to go cold – it's fresh coffee and filtered water, which is brewed slowly, without heat. The result is a much smoother flavour without that bitterness you usually get in black coffee.
While we recommend drinking our cold brew nice and chilled straight from the fridge, it will be just fine stored in a cool, dry place. Once opened though, make sure you keep it refrigerated and consume within 3 days.
A little research led us to discover a great man called Eugen Sandow, the iconic Victorian bodybuilder. Known as the ‘grandfather of modern bodybuilding’, his approach focused on attention to detail in pursuit of perfection, rather than the bigger-is-better ideal that many bodybuilders strived for at the time. We believe there's a parallel with Sandow’s approach to bodybuilding, to the way we make our cold brew coffee, and that’s why we are inspired by and named in homage to the man. Our crossed barbells symbolise this shared ‘striving for perfection’ ethos.

We primarily package our products in aluminium and glass as they are the two most recyclable beverage container formats and are widely recycled in the UK. In particular, we have chosen to use cans because:
- they're fully recyclable
- aluminium recycles forever
- it's the World’s most recyclable beverage container (Average 69% are recycled)
- cans have the highest UK recycling rate of any beverage container at 74%
- they can be recycled and back on shelf in as little as 8 weeks
- the energy saved when recycling cans is as much as 95%
- cans are easy to sort and recycle
- plus the huge added BONUS, cans get cold faster
We use as little plastic as we can, though some of our suppliers do not currently offer plastic-free options. We are continuously working to remove as much plastic as possible from our supply chain.
We partner with Cornwall-based Origin Coffee Roasters who source and roast our coffee to our exacting standards. We love the chocolatey, nutty flavours of coffees grown in South and Central America so we focus on sourcing from those regions because they make for great cold brew!
Responsibly sourcing our ingredients is the cornerstone of our supply chain approach. We are not certified Fairtrade; instead we focus on using a direct-trade approach to sourcing which focuses on quality and transparency.
Speciality coffees are coffees at their peak – grown at the perfect altitude, at the correct time of year, in the best soil and then picked at the right time. If you want to get technical, or find out more from the Special(i)ty Coffee Association, then click here.
